Morning Sickness Over
Morning sickness over! And Patty couldn't be happier. She is now fully entrenched in her second trimester (the so-called blissful trimester), somewhere between 14 and 15 1/2 weeks. We've discovered that determining the due date is a woefully inaccurate combination of measuring, counting, a calendar, poking, prodding and plain old guessing. We're just going to split it down the middle and say August 6th. Hey our guess is as good as anyone else's.
At this stage Jasper has shifted down into her belly and so Patty is now starting to look pregnant. She is really amused at how her breasts are growing, and has nicknamed the left one "Big Rig" and the other one "Jessie". Otherwise she is healthy, happy and progressing normally - although she admits she misses drinking alcohol; I've started drinking for two as a way to compensate.
On Monday she is going in to have an amniocentesis done. It's recommended for all women over the age of 35 because there is a slightly increased chance of a complication. Even still, the chances are very slim there will be a problem. We'll get the results three weeks later, so it's pins a needles until then; think positive thoughts everyone.
